Silver Hawk | Golden Acorn | Outstanding Educator | Redmond Elementary Recognition |
The Redmond Elementary PTSA recognizes volunteers who have given outstanding service to our children and school community, through three awards: the Silver Hawk, the Golden Acorn, and the Outstanding Educator award. The 2010 PTSA service award recipients were be announced during the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held in May.
Each year, members of the Redmond Elementary community can recommend candidates for consideration by the Awards Committee. The Awards Committee is made up of previous Golden Acorn recipients who will make the final selection of recipients for the respective year’s awards.
If you would like to submit a service award nomination, please complete the Service Award Nomination form and return it in a sealed envelope to the PTSA. Thank you!

Golden Acorn Award
Each year, our PTSA gives the Golden Acorn Award to recognize a volunteer who has given outstanding service to our children and our school community. The Golden Acorn Award is very special and is given for continued and dedicated service to only one or two recipients a year. A Golden Acorn recipient receives a gold pin and his/her name is added to the recognition plaque. The Redmond El PTSA contributes $65.00 in the person’s name to the Washington state PTSA financial Grant Foundation. This foundation provides scholarships each year to high school graduates entering college and vocational school.

Outstanding Educator Award
The Outstanding Educator Award is awarded to an outstanding teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, or community member who has gone beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for our students. The PTSA awards only one Outstanding Educator Award a year. An Outstanding Educator recipient receives a pin and the Redmond Elementary PTSA contributes $65.00 in the person’s name to the Washington state PTSA financial Grant Foundation. Redmond Elementary Recognition
In 2008, the Redmond Elementary PTSA received a '1st place' Communications award in the e-mail category from the Washington State PTA, which recognized the weekly e-newsletter KIDz eMAIL as an effective means of communication from PTAs to PTA members and the community about programs, projects, activities, and issues affecting children.

The Redmond Elementary PTSA membership campaign was recognized by the Washington State PTA for enrolling 50% of the previous year's membership by September 30th, 2007. Good job, Jan and Suzie!
